Statistics Finland's consumer confidence indicator soared to a two-year high in December, the agency said in a statement Monday.
The indicator stood at +14.4 points in December, up from -6.5 in the year-ago period, compared with a long-term average figure of +12.9 points.
"Consumers' confidence in all four components of the consumer confidence indicator improved in December from the previous month," the SF added.
"Expectations concerning one's saving possibilities and Finland's economy were very bright. In fact, people expressed confidence in their own economy in general, even if the threat of becoming unemployed was still estimated to be rather big."
But the agency said views about unemployment remained gloomy.
